James And The Teraquins, by Thomas Morley

Once upon a billion light years ago, there was an underwater city of the Teraquins. They were green creatures with a purple and white chequred flag on their chest. Well, once a Teraquin dressed up as a human and went to the Upper World. He told a young man, called James, all about the underwater city, so James set out to find it. He went in an old slimey boat with mouldy oars which could only just float, but James set off to find the underwater city anyway. When he was in the middle of the Pacific, a terrible tsunami capsised his boat and James sank to the bottom of the ocean.

James woke up inside a strange transparent fish which had a wooden name tag attached to it with rusty nails. The name tag said Santo, 'not really a suitable name for a fish' thought James. James got up, and realised he could still breathe. He looked around. Outside there was a huge city with lots of little pods, all of which had different sorts of animals inside. James looked at the animals, the fish was swimming right past the city!

James tripped up and landed on a sort of soft pink pad. He noticed there was another one to his right. As he landed the fish changed direction. James trod on the right hand side pad and suddenly the fish started heading directly towards the city. The fish was like a gigantic vehicle and sped forward straight into the city wall. James fell down a hole and landed in what he thought looked like an elevator. There was water pouring in like a rapid cascade. The water level grew and grew and the elevator went up. James felt faint, then suddenly the doors opened. He gasped and gasped, he opened his eyes and there in front of him were four green creatures with purple and white chequered flags on their chests. This was exactly how the man described the Teraquins.

The biggest Teraquin stepped forward and helped James to his feet. The Teraquin said that he was called Paris. Then he pointed to another Teraquin and said 'this is my brother Josh, my son Iwan and this little girl is my daughter Thomasina. Sadly my wife passed away the day after our wedding day'. Josh quickly changed the subject and said cheerily 'Lets go and have lunch.'
James looked worried. Paris laughed 'Don't worry, we're not eating you !'

They made their way towards the biggest pod and went inside. It was massive, you could fit at least ten houses on top of each other inside. Paris sat on a throne with shiny jewels all over it.
There were a few other Teraquins aswell, who were serving lots of mouthwatering treats.
James sat down at a wooden chair, he looked at the pile of steaming food. 'Yum sushi my favourite' James thought. James picked up some crab. The crabs spiny outer shell scraped across his lips. 'd'arvit' he said 'thats really sharp!' When he had finished eating Paris kindly asked James if he needed any help getting back to the Upper World. 'Oh yes please' James said excitedly. 'I know!' Thomasina exclaimed. 'You could have our time machine'
